I was going over the comments and saw that they were outdated when making a decision to join. I was referred by a friend because of the change in management that occurred a couple months ago. He gave me a few reasons why I should join. Right off the bat the new management replaced all of the TV's everyone is talking about (they were burned out by a lightening strike or something). They've replaced the bulbs in the tanning salon, fixed most of the equipment issues, audio issues, and most of all THEY FIXED THE AC! The staff respond quicker to problems because they now have the support they needed to make things happen. Since I joined I've come to know the staff and I think they genuinely care about their customers. It's good to see positive change, and I'm glad I didn't have to deal with some of those past issues.
Being a woman who has always struggled with weight, I have always been intimidated and overwhelmed of going to a gym. I heard about a 90 day program that was offered at Perfomax and i took a chance. Thank god I did!
My trainer, Kim, is absolutely amazing! Don't let her small stature fool you, as she will kick your butt while being completely motivating.
Who knew I could become one of those people who loves going to the gym?!? But I totally am.
First off I have to say I must be at a different gym than the rest of the reviews I am seeing.
I am not here to say that Performax is the best gym ever but by no means is this place like everyone else is saying. I have gone to this gym at all hours and have never seen it over crowded. Even when the parking lot is full I have never run into an issue of getting on the equipment that I need. Maybe this comes from my years of dealing with Base facilities that are wall to wall people.
Next issue I have to address is the cleanliness. The floors are clean and I have been around a few times when they are picking up and cleaning equipment. Now all the equipment isn't perfect but by now means is the equipment unusable. Only a couple dumbbells have lost name plates but really if you can't compare size you my friend have issues, and again I've used the rack and I think maybe 2 times have a caught a dumbbell without a name plate.
The TV's are the only issue I could really say anything about. It seems like they are hardly ever on but again I am not at the gym to watch TV so I don't care.
The programs are great and lead by some really great people. As for the staff they have always been helpful and willing to help me in any issue that I have.
By no means am I some gym rat that lives at the gyms around town but in my time there I have been treated well and met some great people.
Please take advantage of the trial issue and see this gym for yourself.
First I have been a member of this gym for.... Well, since it opened, I have found that bitches and moans are true, I have also found that when you complain to the right person (Tara). Most of the time it will get done. I cannot deny that if I was the manager that there would be alot less people standing around and spot free. I enjoy this place, it is the People that have kept me coming and staying, everyone is freindly including management, it is defiantly not a gold gym. Now for the price I pay, I really don't care if the tv works or not or the steam room. Honey badger don't care! They have the equipment I want, the weights I need and ok I have too look to make sure they are the right ones...... I enjoy the openess of the place and the drinking fountains do suck. Bring your own water..... :)
